Welcome to Lund’s Volleyball Club
Lunds VK (Lund’s Volleyball Club) established in 2009, is a sports club with the ambition to offer volleyball to all ages and all levels of skill. Lunds VK is a club with around 850 members and is the largest volleyball club in Sweden. We offer the opportunity for people to get engaged with volleyball in a variety of ways – from competitive, elite teams contending at the regional and national levels to recreational volleyball and its members range from children and youth to seniors and veterans. Members of the club, especially in the recreational teams, come from many different countries around the world and our ambition is that volleyball is a way to build friendships and helping to integrate in Lund.
Our teams
Currently we are running two men’s teams (Herrar A+B) and four women’s teams (Damer A+B+Alumni) at the competitive level. For our youth members we have groups for U16/18 (boys and girls teams) and younger teams (who are mixed boys and girls). For the youngest aspiring volleyball kids we also offer Kidsvolley, a co-ed, modified version of volleyball designed for kids aged 6 to 8. For kids age 3-5 we offer a fun activity called Volleybompa once a week.
Recreational section of Lunds VK
In the recreational teams, we play volleyball for fun, but also work on improving our skills and teamplay. We are international and mixed groups, playing on the mixed net height 235 cm.
We have six different training groups catering for all skill levels, ranging from first time beginners to experienced veterans. The teams are called M Blue, M Green, M Yellow, M Red, M Black & M White, where M stands for ‘motion’, Swedish for ‘recreational’.
Our recreational teams generally have training sessions twice a week. These sessions are led by an LVK coach (usually also a player in a recreational team) who organize drills appropriate to the skill level of the different teams.
If you are interested in playing volleyball you are welcome to register your interest to the Lunds VK recreational team coordinators David, Isak, Rúben and Niklas. Let us know about your previous volleyball experience and your skill level and we will guide you to the most suitable team, get in contact by email: recreational@lundsvk.se.
