FIRST MATCH AND FIRST LOSS
Our elite women played this Saturday in Stockholm against Sollentuna VK and fell in 4 sets (25-21, 22-25, 26-24, 25-16), but showed a lot of promise during the match. We had chances to win the match when you look at the score, and our feeling during the match was that we could pull out the upset.
Losing on the road in our premier match was not as crushing when we played the way we did. The girls all put in a massive effort, and worked hard with developing tactics throughout the match; in the end Sollentuna just showed a little more poise when it mattered most, and that was the decider today.
We also have a feeling that some of our big pointmakers has a few more in them than what we saw today. Top scorer was team captain Lovisa Bergh with 16 points, but 3 more girls got in the double digits; Emelie Hedenberg 12p, Sara Hansson 10p and Lilly Topic 10p. Out of which 6 were block kills.
Emelie Hedenberg was voted MVP by Sollentuna, while Matea Markota got the team vote for MVP. Matea has switched from setter to libero, and today she showed all the talent we see in her every day; 24 digs on the day says it all…
Next up for the girls are the Swedish Champions from Engelholm on Wednesday in our home premier… we look forward to a tough match where we want to improve a few things from today.
Thank you everyone for the support and thank you to our club for making this possible… every game is making history for us.
GO LUND!!
