STAR IN THE MAKING JOINS LUND
We are extremely proud to announce that Emelie Hedenberg has decided to sign with our club. Emelie joins us after a year in Hylte/Halmstad where she was part of a team that won Bronze medals last season.
Headcoach Michael Jensen had the following comments on the new signing: Emelie is an absolute steal for us as a new team in the league. She possesses so many of the qualities we value in our club such as heart, commitment, gratitude and of course an outstanding volleyball talent. She will immediately be able to contribute to our top level, and her potential adds to our teams potential to really establish ourselves in the league.
We asked Emelie a couple of questions after she signed the contract:
– You have just signed a new deal with Lunds VK. What made you commit to the club?
I want to play for a team where I see a chance to develop in practice as well as in games, and where I see an opportunity to compete for playing time. I also want to contribute to strengthen a team and help a club reach their goals, and Lund seems like the perfect fit for that. This club has shown a fantastic interest in me and has been committed to make me a part of their family, so it was an easy choice for me in the end.
– Coming from Hylte/Halmstad which is an established top team in the league, what are your expectations for Lund this coming season as a new team in the league?
I expect that we will have to be a big squad, have motivated players and through that have hard and productive practices to be able to compete with the the best teams in the league. As newcomers we will be underdogs, so it’s a great opportunity to challenge every other teams since we can play without pressure, and just focus on playing our own game… Who knows, maybe we will be able to make some noise now and then!
– Do you have a personal goal that you want to achive this season?
I want to develop all my qualities as a player, and gain some experience in the right environment. However, my goal is first and foremost to contribute to the team with all the energy I have, to make this the best experience in my life so far. I hope this will be a fun and rewarding year for the team, where we can look back afterwards and be happy and satisfied with our performance.
We want to welcome Emelie with open arms and we look forward to following her and the rest of this young group of girls. We have already been able to assemble a strong team for the coming season – our first season in the top league, but there is still more to come, so stay tuned!
