Dam A won their first game of 2016.
Again on the road, the girls faced off against Engelholm, and after a close match we pulled out a 3-1 (13-25, 25-23, 11-25, 23-25) win in the end.
As the set scores show, we were the better team by a large margin in 2 of the 4 sets, but after every big win we came out with a lack of focus and ability to turn it on. Add to that a young Engelholm team who played their chance going for it with their serves and hitting, and you have a cocktail called ”tough game”.
Our defense was by far the lowest level we have shown this season, and we know where to focus the next couple of weeks. On the other hand our offense showed a lot of progress both in tempo and dividing the sets. So all our work over the Xmas break has been productive.
MVP today was Felicia Österberg with a personal high 17 points. Felicia has switched from leftside to rightside during the year, and today we saw the result of her hard work. Also scoring double digits today was Lovisa Bergh (16p.) and top scorer Sara Hansson with 19 points.
Next weekend we have our final away game of the season before we play 6 games at home in a row. The girls are still hungry for more and we all know we have a mental battle ahead of us the rest of the way. There is a target on our backs but we will try to be ready for it.
”You’re never as good as you feel after a win, and never as bad as you feel after a loss.” A lot to be learned from those words.
FORZA LUND!!
