FIRST SIGNING!
We are very happy to announce that Lunds VK has signed a new 2 year contract with Matea Markota.
Matea is switching position from setter to Libero next season, and we are all excited to follow her progress. Matea is a player with a high level of competitiveness and she brings a lot of energy to every practice. Off the court Matea has also proven to be a big addition for the club, helping out with youth coaching and sponsor search.
We did a small interview after she signed her new contract:
– You have just signed a new deal with LundsVK. What made you commit to the club?
I signed because everyone in the club and on our team has worked extremely hard this season to reach the elite league, and now we finally made it. Lunds VK is a strong organization with a lot of people working hard on getting a great structure for our team, so I enjoy being part of that and being part of this team again next season.
– What are your expectations for the team this coming season?
I expect that we continue to develop as a team, and that we continue to have the same team chemistry as we have had this year – both on and off the court. We have worked very well together this season as players, and that has been a lot of fun. If we continue to develop as a unit and individually, then I see no reason why we can’t win games in the elite as well.
– Do you have a personal goal that you want to achieve in Lund?
My personal goal is to continue to develop as a team player. I want to become more consistent in my new position, and have a higher bottom level than I have now.
